So sad...

Oh the yucky germs have tagged Caleb :( He has come down with a horrible cold. I hate it when he gets sick...I hate it...I hate it. He sounded a little hoarse yesterday morning when he woke up and by the time evening came around he just looked terrible. I can't even focus on anything else when Caleb gets sick. I just keep worrying about him. Yet he is still a kid that has lots of germs and is going to get sick. I get that...but I don't like it-because a simple bout of the cold can throw him into Children's Hospital for weeks.

Caleb has also become very smart with his Synagis shots. He gets two good size shots in his legs every 28 days to help protect him against sever upper respiratory infections. We usually have a visiting nurse come out and give him the shots (and yes...Stef it is the same nurse that saw Colin). Well Caleb has learned what shots are all about and he freaked out when the visiting nurse came out...so we had to take him to the pediatrician to get his shots. He freaked out there too-but there were more nurses to hold him down :( Poor little guy has been through a lot.

Haley is still growing. I think she sometimes just looks around and tries to absorb everything that is going on. Our house gets pretty crazy. Yesterday was her 2 month well baby. She is over 12lbs and is in the 75th percentile for height and weight and 85th percentile for her head. Bless her heart-she is going to be a tall girl like her Mommy too.

More Christmas

Caleb got a really neat tricycle from Santa. He made sure to call Grandma and Grandpa and tell them all about it.
This is what Haley did all day on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I guess we had better enjoy it while we can...but I can't wait to see her get excited about gifts like Caleb did this year.
Haley is getting so big. She is getting some rolls. She is so beautiful!! Just like her big brother. We are so blessed.

So I want to share a lot of photos that were taken on Christmas with everyone. I will add some more in a seperate post. Merry Christmas to everyone!!! We hope you all enjoyed your days as much as we did. We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We had a very nice dinner and a lot of fun watching Caleb open ALL of his gifts. Holy Toledo...I did not think my kiddos could get so much stuff for Christmas.



I love the Christmas PJ's Grandma got for Caleb. Caleb was not so sure about them...but I am the Mommy...and I said so. :)


All of Caleb's Christmas presents were wrapped in Thomas The Train Christmas wrapping paper. He LOVES Thomas and all of his friends.

Cabin Fever!!!

During the cold winter months Shane and I pull the reins a little bit tighter on Caleb as far as his exposure to the public. This was not so bad in the beginning. However, now that Caleb is 2 he gets a little silly when at home looking at the same walls day in and day out. It breaks my heart to know that he must feel like he could crawl the walls. He loves to play with his friends and go places. Today I just could not do it anymore. I was about to go crazy for him. So we went and had a day with Grandma. We got up and had breakfast at Village Inn and went and did some Christmas shopping...even though none of us had to buy anything. Grandpa joined us for the mall. It was nice to have all of us together. And it let Caleb get some of his sillys out of his system.



When we are bored we put our shorts on our head and wear Daddy's shirts while he is at work. I can't remember if it was on Dr. Phil or Oprah (I am a huge fan of both) but a guest on one of their shows said the following quote: "It is not about waiting for the storm to pass, rather it is learning to dance in the rain". I thought that was such a great quote. Caleb does so well with his Cystic Fibrosis and all the meds and treatments we do every day. He has really taught us what dancing in the rain is all about.

We are smiling!

Haley has started to show her cute little smile. And no it is not because she has gas. She truly smiles and makes eye contact. She is sleeping through the night and is a big time cuddle bug.



This is the first winter that Shane and I have felt comfortable enough to let Caleb play in the snow. Caleb went with us this year to chop down a Christmas tree and his Daddy even showed him how to make snow angels and a snowman. As you can see, the poor little guy is bundled from head to toe and than some. You would have thought it was below zero outside.








Tonight while I was at work I called home to see how everything was going with Daddy and the kiddos. Caleb insisted on talking with me on the phone. I could tell he was just walking around with phone telling me everything he was looking at. I asked him to please give the phone back to Daddy (as my break at work had ended). As I continued to beg Caleb to give the phone back to Daddy he goes on to ask me: "Momma, whatcha doing?" I told him I was at work, his reply "Momma be home soon?". I never thought the day would come (especially so soon) when I would be having little conversations with my two-year old on the phone.

Both of the kids are now on the waiting list for Jefferson Academy. Yes, that is right...we already have our kids on a waitlist for school. Caleb was put on the waitlist when he was 6 weeks old and Haley was just added yesterday. Caleb is number 41 on the waitlist and Haley is number 1. The school accepts 40 students per grade level, 20 students per teacher. I am sure by the time Caleb starts Kindergarten he will be able to get in. I just can't believe that 40 other Mom's were quicker than me.

And so it begins...

So lot's of people are asking if we "blog"...the answer was "no"...until now. So I am going to try this and see how it works out for us. Please be patient as we learn to navigate the blogspot.

I will start by saying-having two kiddos is the most amazing thing in the world. Thee most rewarding job in the world. For those of you who were not aware...Haley was born October 25th. Caleb is such a sweet big brother. I was so scared that I would not love my next child as much as I love Caleb. But your heart does grow more wings. Even after just 7 weeks of having Haley in our lives, it is hard to imagine what life was like without her. And to even try to remember what life was like before Caleb is unimaginable.
